Mark walked from
Land's End to John O'Groats in 2003, mainly following Andrew
McCloy's book, and has assembled an impressive website about his walk
and about the End to End walking challenge generally (the website needs
a "links" section though). He's also published an entertaining book
about his walk.
Martin Hockey's End to End website
Martin
walked End to End in 2004, and his website is worth looking through.
In particular it includes a comprehensive "links" section to
other End to End walking websites (so I don't need to do one).
John Butler's End to End website
John
Butler spent sixteen years (1988 to 2004) walking End to End in
bits, documenting his walks on the web as he progressed. A labour
of love, still being updated as he improves his route and rewalks part
of it. He's ended up with an excellent online guidebook, with the
emphasis on quality photographs.
Andrew Walker's End to End website
Not updated recently, but it includes a lot of tips on planning your End to End walk.
To quote their website: ‘The Land’s End John O’Groats
association is an exclusive membership of those who have completed the epic
journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats, or vice versa, by means of a single
trip. It exists to celebrate members’
achievements.’
The aim of the LDWA is ‘to further the interests of those
who enjoy long distance walking’. Among
other things they organise long distance walking events and publish a useful
newsletter.
The SWCPA is a volunteer ‘user group’ that promotes use
and improvements on the South West Coast Path.
Membership includes newsletters and the annual handbook.
The Offa’s Dyke equivalent of the SWCPA, although the ODA
came first, having been founded in 1969.
Membership includes newsletters and an accommodation guide, and the website includes a comprehensive accommodation
list.
The PWA publishes an accommodation guide, and send
newsletters to their members.
